Kishimen (flat noodles), one of Nagoya's specialties, has become less popular, and its production has decreased to 1/3 of what it used to be.
It is still eaten by tourists from outside Aichi Prefecture, but it is not eaten much by local people, including me.
Noodles classified as so-called 'Nagoya meshi' tend to have rich flavors, such as Misonikomi Udon, Taiwan Ramen and Ankake (sticky sauce) Spaghetti.
However, kishimen noodles have a mild taste if you say it well, and a taste that doesn't have an impact if you say it badly, and it is lacking strong appeal that makes us feel like going out of our way to eat it.
Therefore, I feel that Kishimen eaters in Aichi Prefecture is becoming limited to the elderly.
